About EDRN

Welcome to EDRN, a novel blog utilizing social media in nursing education. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the world changed; and as humans, we had to adapt. As a result, our means of communications, professions, and educations quickly adjusted to online modalities. However, educational institutions not adapted for online education struggled to produce high-quality student-centered learning.

As a result, nursing education as online didactical and clinical courses was a novel concept to the profession, although not a new concept among institutions of higher learning.  Some nursing institutions necessitated the adaption of online education due to COVID. Online education is interactive, utilizing the best of the ever-changing field of technology.  The next step in this technological evolution is the utilization of social media within nursing education. Using social media in nursing education engages students, encourages collaboration, assists different learning styles, and ignites learning.
